The Lichen of the Year 2015 has been announced

The Lichen of the Year 2015 in Armenia is Peltigera praetextata (Flörke ex Sommerf.) Zopf. On 22 of May 2015, in the frame of “Biodiversity of the Year 2015″ public campaign, the Peltigera praetextata is announced as a lichen of the year. More than 200 people participated in online public voting and voted for Ramalina farinacea, Flavoparmelia caperata and  Peltigera praetextata.

Training on Lichen Ecology and Identification in Sweden

On May 4-8 2015, the training course “Training on Lichens and Identification took place in Ekenäs, Sweden. More than 18 participants from 10 countries (including Arsen Gasparyan – participant from Armenia) participated in the course. The main learning targets included: Field knowledge of common and characteristic lichen species of different habitats in Sweden

International Lichenological Excursion to Armenia

[:en] In the frame of the “OPTIMA Iter Lichenologicum” initiative, the Young Biologists Association NGO (www.yba.am) and Organization for the Phyto-Taxonomic Investigation of the Mediterranean Area (OPTIMA) organized an international lichenological excursion to Armenia.The aim was to study the lichen diversity of the Khosrov Forest State Reserve and other areas in Armenia.

Young Scientists School on Lichenology in Armenia
